Registration:

All students must fill out the online registration process via Class Manager, it is important that we have valid parent/guardian contact details in case of emergency.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

If your child cannot make their class please let me know by text or email in advance when possible. For private lessons cancellation must be made 24 hours in advance or the lesson will be charged for. No fee refunds can be given for missed ballet classes. Two weeks notice is required if a student plans to leave to enable me to fill places.

Arrival:

Please arrive for your first class 10 minutes early to give yourself time to get ready. Bring a water bottle and make sure you are wearing suitable clothing. There are several toilets for changing in, both downstairs and upstairs toilets can be used. Entrance to the Derwent Hall at Trinity is through the Cafe.

Payments:

Fees must be paid in full at the start of each term either by cash or cheque on the day or by bank transfer on request. Please use the student's name as reference for all bank transfers. All classes are charged termly although these can be paid in instalments on request. A term typically lasts 12 weeks however as we run with the school term system some terms can be shorter at 11 weeks or longer at 13. Fees are worked out at an average of 12 weeks per term over the course of a year. Fees can be subject to change so please check the timetable and student letters for up to date information. 

MEDICAL CONCERNS:

Any medical conditions should be detailed at student registration. Please notify the teacher of any relevant conditions prior to the start of class.

Confidentiality:

All personal information is kept confidential and will not be discussed or shared with any other party according to data protection laws.

We are now using Class Manager for registration and invoicing. Details provided during registration are required to be passed on to Class Manager for it to be used effectively however, GDPR guidelines are strictly followed and personal data will be stored securely and used solely for purposes relating to the student’s dance class.

Safeguarding and child protection:

The school has a duty of care to all our students. All our teachers are DBS checked and insured and we are committed to safeguarding practices.

Children under the age of 12 must not leave the premises without their parent/guardian and will be kept in the classroom until collected.

Children under the age of 5 must have a parent/guardian on site at all times throughout their class in case of an emergency

Myself or my assistant can accompany children to the toilet when necessary/if the appropriate adult is not in the area immediately outside the classroom, otherwise we will accompany the child to find their appropriate adult for toilet trips.

use of photographic/filming equipment

Photography/filming of any kind is not permitted during classes. During viewing classes at the end of term parents are permitted to film/photograph children with the permission of the teacher present. We occasionally photograph/film children in costumes/before exams/during shows. Written consent will be sought from parents/guardians before anything is published and parents can advise if they object to their children being photographed or filmed in any way.

Health & Safety

When registering your child it is important that we are made aware of any health issues or disabilities your child may have. Minor accidents will be treated by a first aider and recorded in the accident book

Respect all teaching staff

Treat your fellow pupils with respect. Support and encourage each other. Bullying in any form will not be tolerated.

Be on time.

Be prepared. Make sure that you are wearing the correct uniform and footwear, hair is out of the face and all jewellery is removed. Make sure you have a drink of water if you need it. No chewing gum.

Attend classes regularly. Regular class attendance is key to becoming the best dancer you can be.

Always try your very best.

Please ensure students have plenty of room to participate in the lesson without obvious risk of injury to themselves or others or cause damage to surrounding property 

Ballet students from Grade 1 upwards will require access to a suitable safe object to use as a barre such as a chair or windowsill 

We will not be held responsible for any injury or damage to property sustained during online classes 

Students must be appropriately dressed for class with suitable footwear 

No videos of online classes are to be shared online or with any third party due to safeguarding and privacy regulations 

Please ensure there are no interruptions during the class
