The Jasmine Tui School of dance has delivered dance sessions in Primary, Secondary schools and for various youth dance projects all over the North East. As principal, I have worked as a youth worker, teaching assistant and have run after school clubs in street dance, ballet, cheerleading and many other dance styles from nursery age up to young adults, so am highly experienced in this area.
I believe strongly that dance can play an important role in the fitness of a young person; it contributes to their physical and mental development from an early age encouraging good posture and flexibility as well as better co-ordination and concentration which can set the precedent for later in life. It also supports several of the every child matters outcomes such as 'be healthy' and 'enjoy and achieve'. I am keen to work with schools to develop their extended schools programme to include dance. I am available to book for a range of sessions such as after school & breakfast clubs, Choreography for school plays or dance festivals, workshops, holiday clubs and lesson cover.
Private tuition can be arranged for students wishing to progress their training further whether beginner or advanced. Private classes can be ideal for older students who have outgrown group classes, younger students who have special requirements or anyone looking to progress more quickly than a group class will allow. I have successfully put students through their IDTA ballet exams through private tuition from a simple beginner Rosette award to the Intermediate performer examination.
Rates start at £30 an hour which includes the hire of the hall, please call or email to discuss availability.
